Never Been Kissed

I love Big Kiss scenes in movies, especially this one from 1999’s teen comedy Never Been Kissed :

Josie Grossie (Drew Barrymore’s character in the film) is a kindred spirit for me. No one threw a raw egg at my face on prom, but I too, was a dorky girl often infatuated with guys who didn’t know I existed (weren’t we all?)

My own Never Been Kissed story as performed at the Thriving Artists Showcase, December 2015. From July to December 2015, I was a member of the Thriving Artists Program and really dived into my creative dreams and demons. I knew that in this new phase of my life, I really wanted to go after my artistic dreams. I’m so happy I got to work with Jess again and take part in the culminating showcase. (She’s an amazing coach and all-around great person, so if you’re interested, definitely check her out!) I really feel like I am in a MUCH different place regarding creativity because of this program. For reals.

For the showcase, I told a story that I originally workshopped through a storytelling class taught by too-many-times-to-count Moth Grandslam winner, Adam Wade.

So, here it is:

I hope this story brings you something: joy, laughter, empathy, or even a damn-I’m-glad-I-wasn’t-her feeling. Happy 2016 and thanks for watching!
